We are on the same page. The first gen. Cummins motors have a vacuum pump on them as the Dodges did not switch to hydro boost until '94. Having said that, I am probably going to convert to Hydroboost as I am not overly impressed with the Hydrovac set up. Mine will stop with authority if you get someone to help you stand on the pedal :) There are many applications out there that use the Hydroboost I think after looking at some on the bench that the '94-'98 Dodge diesel would be adequate. We shall see.

Motor and tranny are permanently installed and mounted with no blocking holding them up!!! It took for ever to make the tranny mounts, they are not perfect but are plenty strong. I just took the driveshaft to be shortened as it is about 4 1/4" too long. I should get that back on Wed. and then the drivetrain will be buttoned up other than the gear change. I am starting the plumbing and wiring now and have to go pick up my alternator at the rebuild shop, it is great to have a local guy I can trust and not have to rely on a questionable overseas rebuild. I have to do some trimming to the support surrounding the dog house opening to get the turbo back on the Cummins and then work on the exhaust. I will add some more pics when I have some more progress to show.

Hi folks. Sorry for the long delay but the weather here has been and continues to be kinda frigid. I have not been able to get outside to work on Fannie in quite a while and it is staring to get old :x I have been collecting parts at least...I picked up all of the gauges(decided to go aftermarket)and speedo. I finally got my driveshaft back and it is ready to go in with new u-joints and carrier bearing. I got my 3:07 gears and carrier, and many other small items for the engine. The gears are the only unknown at this point as I keep getting conflicting advice. I am going to try fitting them and if for some unforseen reason they don't go I have a set of 3:54 gears for back up. Our big trip out west is planned for end of June and beginning of July so I now have a deadline. My plan is to have Fannie on the road by end of April or early May and take some road trips to give her a shakedown. I would like to get about a thousand miles on before setting out on a 5000 mile trek. As always any thoughts or comments are welcome and I will be sure to post pics when I have some more. Looking for some temps above freezing! Robb
