Me too!
It is going to be in the upper 40s here for the next couple of days...yahoo! Ready to get this thing running and then tie up all the plumbing and wiring issues. I will keep you posted. Robb

Re: Travco 270 getting a Cummins Diesel swap
Hi all, I'm still alive. I was finally able to get back on the MH and have been concentrating on the Cummins itself. I hung the turbo back on it and started to build an exhaust. I had to widen the doghouse opening to accomodate the turbo but it still fits under the cover. Next is to re-install all of the components on the front of the Cummins. I am hoping to have some pictures to upload on Saturday. Robb

That'll be cool to see- that swap with an OD tranny would be so nice to have in my 320

Re: Travco 270 getting a Cummins Diesel swap
Hello again from cold, cloudy western Pennsylvania
I have been trying to get out and work on Aunt Fannie as much as possible, but am still fighting the weather. I did manage to make a little progress however and here are a few pics. The first 2 are of the tranny mounts I made for the Allison. The short angled part goes flat against the bottom of the frame and then the longer side is bolted to the tranny just behind the bellhousing. Front view and you can see where the turbo is sitting inside the cutout I had to make in the floor. I am going to reinforce this area later. The guy on Youtube with the Cummins 270 must have moved his engine to the drivers side as it looks like he did not have to make this cut? Here you can see the cut, I am going to make it look more "factory" when I reinforce it. Here is the starter which is directly below the turbo down pipe. I think I have figured out how to elbow the pipe back so it will go beside the bellhousing through the area at the bottom of the pic. I am going to start with 3" (about 18"-24")and then once I get it into the open adapt it up to 4" open pipe the rest of the way. My experience with the 6BT is more air in and more air out are the easiest ways to start adding power. That is all for now, but hope to have more this week. As always, I'm open to any thoughts or questions. Robb

Re: Travco 270 getting a Cummins Diesel swap
Was just looking at the 320 engine bay yesterday, thinking about how I would accommodate the Hydra-boost pump...if I'd have to find pulleys/brackets that would work, fab some, or a 'combo platter.' Neat stuff!

Re: Travco 270 getting a Cummins Diesel swap
I believe the Hydro-Boost set ups all work off of the P/S pump. My "97 Dodge Cummins was set up that way from the factory with both the steering and brake boost running off the P/S pump. Timing is everything for me, if I have time to complete it mine will get Hydro-Boost, otherwise the Hydra-Vac will have to do for now.

That's good to know- never studied the Cummins-powered Rams enough to know that they are running the Hydra-boost set up
