Travco 270 Retrievel

Unread postby sshaw1.1 on Tue Nov 28, 2017 12:56 pm

Ok guys, I'm sure you have heard this one a thousand times before. What is the best way to get a non running 270 with dry rotted tires up the road? Tires are holding air and I have about 150 miles to travel. Should I bite the bullet and send a tire shop out and have the tire changed and then have it towed? Or are there other options and if so what are they? I have thought about a Jerr-dan type of flat bed carrier but they seem too high and likely to cause issues with the bridges and low hanging lines. I would really like to get a good look at a prospective rig before sinking a lot of money into it before finding out it has bigger issues. Appreciate any feedback.

Thank you

Just haul it on a heavy duty flatbed trailer. Look at this thread... viewtopic.php?f=16&t=1040&p=7698#p7698

See the picture of the 270 on a trailer?
