Thanks. \nWell jumped on the Generator box. It was in need of some repair. Finally got the genset in. Damn it's heavy. I was wondering if anyone knows. Is there any issue running newer electronics with an older Onan CCK ? I thought I read somewhere something about the sine wave on older gensets.\nI also re glassed the front storage compt while I had the resin mixed up to glass in t he floor in the gen box.\nSMC Resin is the best IMHO.

I decided not to put a table back in the rear dinette. We are going to use the rear table for the front as it was a little bigger.\nSo I made a board for the back and am going to use that as a storage compt.. My 7yr old painted it.\nAlso the final verdict was in. I took the front tool box off. It looks better.

I noticed that yout gen-set has the muffler inside the compartment. Is that a factory setup?\n\nI never even thought to swap the front and rear tables.\n\nI wish these motor homes had more outside storage... but I do agree that it looks better without the front toolbox bumper!

Yeah the muffler is inside but it gets piped outside which is hopefully tonights project. \nThis genset came out of my 1970 220 and the gen box was much smaller.

Got the generator running but man the exhaust gets hot. I had a problem with it in my 220 where the muffler would glow but I thought it was rotten gas. It doesnt glow anymore but it seems to be too hot to me. it runs perfect otherwise. I hit it with a laser and the muffler was in the 450-500 degree range. It was 250 degrees at the end of the tail pipe. That seems to hot. What gives ??

Well after my carb crisis(posted In engine section)I played with the A/C. It actually had a small amount of R12 left in it.\nThat is a good sign. I drained the compressor and retrofitted it with esther oil and flushed the system and evaced it. it held vacuum overnight and I recharged it and viola.Cool breeze flowing nicely. Bringing it down to DMV tommorow for inspection and hopefully registration. I pumped up the airbags. See if it rides any better. Installed a new Sony stereo with usb...

Ordered a new pass side ex manifold. I figure the flange bolts are gonna break anyway and the new aftermarket one does not have the riser or pollution tube. I think the manifold has been swapped.\nThe wiring in this thing...Ughhh...I have never seen such butcher work. Someone actually stripped one of the ground wires for the front marker lights and just wrapped the bare wire around a piece of metal connecting the the body o the chassis.\nA/C seems to be working good and the final verdict is in on Plastimend. The holding tank took alot longer to dry than the product said but it did dry and it is strong and the repair is solid. Good stuff, just a little messy and give it more time than they say to dry. I used it to fix a plastic measuring wheel that broke. Worked on that too.\nWas painting some of the storage boxes today. Picked up a fresh can of POR15. Very watery. Not thick at all and not getting the coverage out of it that I have in the past. Bad batch or formula change ?? It was so watery I ended up dumping it in the spray gun and spraying it...\nBad idea...Use face, eye and body protection as well as respiratory. I don't think I will do that again. Stuff makes ALOT of overspray.\nI am overjoyed that the cruise control works but wonder what those magnets on the drive shaft were for then ? My cruise appears to run off the speedo.

\n\n\nI have the front storage bumper and I too was going to remove it. However it has proven to be far too useful for storage of tools, fluids, jacks et al. I've even grown to like the way it looks and now think Travcos without them are naked. The other useful thing about the bumper is it makes a great place to stand and clean the windshields.

So you have one too? \nNow that begs to question. Was it a factory installed option or some kind of universal add on ?\nI thought someone built mine from scratch.
