Crazy Idea...
I am looking into getting a F350 truck and had a crazy idea... \nWould it work to tow the travco with a F350 truck? \nHas anyone ever converted their Travco into a pull along trailer? \n\nI don't imagine anyone ever doing that... But after getting rid of the front axles, engine, trans, and bolting a common hitch to the front end, I could imagine a much lighter pull along trailer that would add an extra 25 square feet of space... Even if I didn't decide to remove all of that and bolt a trailer to it... Could it be pulled along like that??? \n\nlol... that's my newest crazy idea.\n\n-Cheers

Re: Crazy Idea...
I am sure it could be pulled but at 14,000 lbs would you want to?

Re: Crazy Idea...
Not crazy... just kinda' impractible... however..if determined enuff...\nMethinks a 27 foot flat framed trailer would be a better bet. Set up with a front axle (trailer type) placed in the steer position of a Travco and a rear axle also in the correct rear position. If memory serves me... there are a lot of cross members in/under the flooring that sits atop the Dodge chasis. With all that weight removed, the body lifted and placed on a trailer frame...only the fiberglass and surrounding frame rails would be the main weight.. Would still look like a travco but really a classic trailer.... Have enough beer? go for it.. might be another way to salvage a non running, no engine and no brakes Travco.. Maybe a 210 or 220 might be a better selection? just my $.02 worth \nGo for it!!!\nBBB

Well BBB, My engine and trans are running fine....for now!!!! I'm just thinking in the future... It would be a better idea to go with something a little lighter. Just a crazy old thought popping into the old noggin.
