Suburban Furnace
Hello everyone!\nFinally started working on the 1973 Travco 270.\nGoing through the systems and checking appliances.\nGood fridge! Both roof airs work! Central vac works!\nPulled the furnace to inspect it, it's a Suburban dynatrail NT32A\nCombustion chamber was rusted out.\nBought another furnace, disassembled and cut the combustion chamber out of the housing, and started cleaning and discovered it's rotten also.\nI doubt I'm going to be able to find a combustion chamber that's not corroded.\nDoes anybody recommend or has anyone upgraded their furnace? And to what?\nI appreciate any feedback.\nThanks!\nMike Barnett\nJonesboro, AR cell 870.219.8416

Re: Suburban Furnace
For immediate heat gratifiction, and not looking at my furnace in any manner or so far my propane system...\n(Have no idea on condition of my propane system)\nI got a Buddy heater which does a great job, has low oxygen, monoxide and tip over shutoff protection.\nRuns on one pound refillable propane tanks... Rip the furnace out and use the extra space!. \nBTW I put a curtain between the cupboard and the cabinet at the end of the counter to control heat\nabout halfway down the RV which is also great for air conditioner cooling control like the front or sleeping area.\nFWIW/My $.02.worth....\nBBB

Re: Suburban Furnace
any RV furnace will work .\nJust make sure it has atleast the same btus and will physically fit which should not be a big deal since the newer ones are smaller and I like the DSI better anyway\nThat said, You have me wondering about mine. Can you post pics of the rust damage ?

Re: Suburban Furnace
Hello!\n\nAbove, please find (5) pictures of the furnace.\nBottom photo is the furnace as removed from my motor home.\nOther photos are the replacement that I purchased that the "ugly" was exposed after cleaning.\nIt looked to be intact when I removed it from the case, combustion chamber is spot welded in and had to be cut out.\nI used a cut off wheel on a grinder to cut the spot welds. Not real difficult, but requires a little work.\nI wish there was a stainless steel replacement for this.\nI most likely will upgrade with a furnace from a newer RV.
