Re: Motor Oil
In my older vehicles (in other words, all my vehicles), I run Pennzoil straight 30 weight.\nI also add a bottle of Rislone to put back the zinc and phosphorus (ZDDP) that was mostly removed from current SL and SM grades. Flat tappet engines (like the 440) need ZDDP to avoid cam destruction.

Re: Motor Oil
I am running Castrol 20w50 in my Travco's 440... I have an old Ford car with a flathead V8 that I also run it in.

Re: Motor Oil
Rotella here also.\n\nLike mentioned you need a oil with the zinc phosphate additives in older flat tappet engines.\nAVOID and "energy conserving" oil. That is for modern engines with roller cams.

Re: Motor Oil
Mobil-1, Royal Purple, or Red Line in my expensive stuff\n\nMotor Tech, Parts Master, or Car Quest Synthetic for the less expensive stuff...read the label on the bottles. All made by Ashland (aka 'Valvoline'), can get in the 5-quart jugs for around $25.\n\nOil filters? Baldwin or Wix- and anything with "Affina" on the back is a Wix in a different box. And usually less expensive.\n\nCoolant? GL-05. Mixes with everything, extended life, and less expensive that 'label' brands\n\nBrake fluid? Motorcraft/Ford HD stuff (for their limos, tow trucks, that kind of stuff- boiling point beyond crazy), Valvoline Synthetic, or Castrol LMA...
