1977 travco 320 Engine Part Help

What is the part circled in the photo? The rubber on mine is torn. The engine runs, but need to know if this is something I should replace sooner rather than later. Thanks!

Cruise control actuator. Vacuum diaphraghm pulls throttle when cruise is on. If your not using your cruise control it is not needed

Has anyone replaced the cruise control actuator with some thing newer, so we can use the cruise control??

I have an actuator off of a 97 Subaru Outback I was going to try after I got the TBI on it. The old style should still be available somewhere. I had the Subaru one laying around from an old parts car and the Cuise vacuum control unit is still intact on Nessie.

TBI is Throttle Body Fuel Injection.
The set up I have is from a company called FiTech.
