You have a front axle in mind for the 4x4 setup yet? I'm curious to see what you use.

Yes, a dana super 60 out of a 2006 or newer f450 /f550, its wider than the other dana 60's and much stronger than the standard dana 60, not that the standard dana 60 is weak as it is rated at 6000lbs. the tube wall thinkness and diameter is bigger than the standard 60, the ball joints / knuckle assemble is quite a bit bigger and it also has bigger ujoints.\ni will have to make wheel adapters to go from 10 lug to the motorhome 6 lug BUD pattern i am running. i just got some nice 19.5 ALCOA's to upgrade the look. ill use a NP263 electric shift transfer case.

Sounds like you have a plan! I would personally stick with 10 lug 19.5 wheels that bolt straight onto the axle... maybe swap the rear axle to match. Otherwise carry 2 spares or maybe none at all.

This is a Great Story with a fantastic hook in it! I've been a Cummins "B" Motor fan for 25yrs. I've got a 94 12v with 5spd that I'm saving for a similar project down the road. Your engineering has given me too many ideas to sleep tonight! Thanks for sharing! I'm following this thread until you start another project!

gon2sea hasn't logged on since August of 2016... maybe he moved on to other projects but I hope he will update us someday.
