How much POR 15 tank sealer for 70 gal tank?
Got my gas tank back from the radiator shop. Radiator guy said he took a five gal bucket of crap out of it. He had to cut a hole in the top and then weld it back to get it clean. It is clean but surface rust is already returning and the bottom is heavily pitted. No leaks though I am going to use the POR 15 sealer which I need to do quickly before surface rust makes it not seal up right. How much do I need for a 70 gal tank to get complete coverage? Do I need to spring for a gallon or can I get 2 quarts or ?? Thanks hoping to hear from someone who has done this already.

I would say a quart maybe too but I am not a fan of POR 15 products. Their chassis paint sucks IMHO. If it's rusting on the inside already It's probably just a light layer of surface rust you are getting from the acid they used to clean it. Nothing to worry about. If it's the outside, Use Rustoleum V7400. Much better. We use it on the fire hydrants because of the road salt and it works well. Grainger sells it.

This is the first time I have ever heard a car restoration person say anything negative about POR 15 products. I will take it under consideration and look into the paint you recommend. Thanks.
