Front Drum Removal on Late 1971 M375
Is the outer front wheel bearing grease cap threaded on/off or a push on/pull off type? It has a big hex on it as shown in pic below, but manual doesn't really say how to remove it. Just want to be sure before boogering up a part that might be difficult to find. If threaded, does one side have reverse threads like the lug nuts?

IIRC It's threaded. They usually come off without too much effort. Either a big socket or even big pair of channel locks.

It is threaded. The ones on my 76 are also threaded and have the same hex.

CORRECTION to original post (not sure how to edit my original post).\n The cover is an OCTAGON not a hex. Should have looked at my own picture attachment...\nI ordered a 2 1/4" socket only to discover my error the hard way; Hex doesn't fit Octagon \nLooks like I'll be making a tool

I used a large pair of Channel lock pliers. Came off easily.
