Order to check thing, with pedal going to floor?

Unread post by rjsdotorg » Sun Dec 24, 2017 1:54 pm

Early 71 (Jan) M375 chassis, single master and booster.\n\nWith engine running I can feel some assist in the pedal, but it still goes right to the floor.\nThe rig sat for some time before towing here.\nI added a pint to the master which did increase the "feel", but still to the floor.\nNo visible fluid\nLocal shop has a power bleeder, should we just do a bleed first and see?\nWhat is the sign of a bad master vs a leaking booster?\n\nI assume:\n1. bleed (what order?)\n2. check vacuum hoses and wheels etc for fluid\n3. pull drums and check slaves\n4 ?

Sounds like you are on the right track. I know others here have expressed frustration with the older (pre 1976?) hydrovac brake systems.
