axle had a wear groove from original seal and oil after 60k miles.\n

\n\nPolished the surface and checked the location; the original seal was pressed all the way into the hub.\nNew National 456648 seals will be tapped just flush and so the lips will ride on clean steel.

All the parts had to be degreased, power washed, acid rust treated, and heat paint sprayed.\nLoose assembly:\n
IMG_5879.JPG
\n\nself adjusters are smooth and clean\n\nAssembled with spring kit from Alretta Truck parts; spendy but the only ones in existence.\n

\n\nThe springs that hook around the casting are a bitch to snap in.

\n\nIf you don't have a torque multiplier or 500lb impact, I cannot recommend it enough.\nThe springs also definitely require big proper spring tools.
