What is the part store number (or wherever) for the box?\nOReilly's etc are clueless and can't look up the OEM Saginaw number.\n\nConsidering just replacing the top seal and the pump seal, we'll see.

Did you check the parts list here on the forum. I got the part number from the travco group on Facebook and I thought I had the number here somewhere. I am not sure if it changed between yours and a 76 though.

From\nhttp://www.travcoforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=1029\nCARDONE 27-7501\nlooks like mine\n(cheap https://www.carid.com/cardone/remanufac ... -7501.html)\nand my FSM says it is a Saginaw 708, but no one cross references the exact #, so we'll see. I'll look again and call NAPA, the warehouse here has a lot of old books.\n\nOnly 60k miles on the rig, and when full the steering sounds and feels fine, so it might just be dry seals, for now, unless someone ran it dry for a while and did subtle damage.

Got most of the front end off...\nThe sawsall went right through the short weld and we lifted the combo out, after pulling the column.\nThe puller wouldn't fit between the arm and the box, but a few hammer taps and it loosened up.\n\nI couldn't find a part number for the pump, yet, anyone? It did leak a little.\n\nPS fluid was a little dark, so I'm replacing everything, and putting a filter in the return line.\n\nShoes, slaves and lines had been redone at some point recently, but RF drum is BADLY out of balance (not the tire) which loosened the bearings a tad and wore the seal a little too. All to be replaced. Interesting that the RF spindle looks new.\nRods all feel snug and stiff.\n\nTurns out I could have pulled the column and the top seal below the snap ring, but the rest really should be done anyway.

I got a NAPA box part #39-1038\nhttps://www.napaonline.com/en/p/PNB391038\nthe only difference I see is that the input has a wide groove instead of a recess, for the pot joint clamp bolt.\nAt oreilly I got a pump 732-2123\nPlus a filter for the line. More work tomorrow.

Pics of new PS parts.\nThe high pressure hose had a pinhole leak - glad I tested it. New one on order.\n\nI weighed the box - 55lbs with bracket!

was the box bad ? Most of the time just needs a stub shaft seal. That can be replaced without removing the box.

Not particularly; but the high pressure line was, and the fluid looked like motor oil.\nI replaced it all - hopefully reassembled next week.

Does anyone know the OEM part# for the steering box, and/or a good source?\nReplacing mine, again, as the rebuilt NAPA unit is failing.\n1971 M375\nAlso need a drag link.
