Bag lifts
For those that have them, how much can you raise your rear axle... if you want to?\n\nAmong other reasons, one of my the main contributing factors in seeking a 210/220 is the rear overhang and my incredibly steep driveway... in the neighborhood of 10 degrees (19% grade). We get farm equipment up and down it, but our pull behind has WAY too much overhang. \n\nSo, I was contemplating if I could really get some temporary lift out of air bags on a 270, I might be able to pull it off.

I'll let you know when I pump mine up but IIRC it wasn't much.

Re: Bag lifts
Thanks. Yeah... probably not much, but it's a thought. I'd be interested in that 270 in Toledo, but it MUST make it up the driveway. The pull behind is at my uncles but any travco I want at my own place.

Re: Bag lifts
On the top the grade is much more gradual. The bottom is rough be the road is dead level and instantly jumps to the grade. I've thought about cutting more into the hill, but the erosion wouldn't be worth it. (we live at the top of a bluff)

Re: Bag lifts
Not sure why, but the suspension on my 270 seems to sit rather high. No bags or anything.

Higher than most I've seen. Maybe newer springs?\n\nWhat I'm thinking is if I can, with bags, drop the front and raise the rear, I might be able to just get up the driveway. These have 5 feet of overhang past the rear tires right?

Re: Bag lifts
Well, after remeasuring it appears its about a 25% grade. I'd need to get at least 2' of clearance between the ground and the lowest point at the rear of a 270. I think a 210 or 220 is still the way to go for me. That one in toledo is so tempting but probably best to be patient.

Re: Bag lifts
My bags lifted it about 2 inches at 80 psi.
