what is the exact size again ? IIRC Michelin is the only one who makes them. May have to go to a truck tire dealer.\nXCA is the model IIRC but it has been about 8 yrs since I bought any.

they are 7.5x17. I checked several places on the web and local truck tire centers and no one carries or is willing to find that size with the load rating we need. Sounds like we're screwed unless we find different rims to fit the 5 lug bolt pattern on my '70

How about this tire?... http://www.summitracing.com/parts/fit-1 ... /\n\nCould you run that size radial tire and install radial tubes? I found 6 different tires in that size on Summit's website rated at 3085 lbs load capacity.\n\nI couldn't find any bias ply 7.50 x 17 tires but there are some 17" radials out there... You just need to pay attention to the load rating.\n\nHope this helps!

I will ask around about how that size compares to the original 7.5x17. I am concerned about the spacing between the duals on the rear and the load rating should be at least F (at least that was what I was told by service shops of RV dealers). I did just notice that my '92 Fleetwood on a P-30 Chevy chassis has big 5 lug bolt pattern and they are 19.5 rims! If I can verify the bolt pattern size, we may be on to something. I also overheard a couple guys on the vintage Winnebago sites say they have '72 Dodge chassis with 5 lug 19.5's. Waiting to hear back from them. BTW, I did find one guy on eBay that had a '70 Travco with a 413 but quit the project and has the rebuilt 413 for sale and also has 7 19.5 wheels he had made with the 17 centers and they have 7 brand new tires mounted on the rims that have never hit the road. He claims it was $1000 to have the rims done and has nearly $3K in the whole deal and is willing to sell them but I don't want to throw the at least $2500 at him for them right now all at once!

I also found these but I am not sure about the weight ratings... http://www.summitracing.com/parts/cok-7 ... iew/\n\nIf you are seriously going to be traveling around in your Travco 270 then I think that finding 19.5" wheels is the way to go. The tires are much easier to find and a "G" load rating seems to be the norm. Plus you won't have to deal with the whole split rim issue that most tire places wont touch anymore.

Ok guys, so here is what I have found on the available 19.5" rims with the 5 on 8" to replace my 17". There are Dodge MH's of the mid 70's on the M500 chassis that have 19.5 rims with the 5 on 8" bolt pattern. Have seen but missed several sets sold for between $65 to $100 per rim. but they were sold before I got to them. Also found a couple of cheaper 70's Dodge MH's on various sale boards and could see the 5 lug pattern on them. They are also used on the large Ford grain trucks of the late 40's to '60's and our Dodge wheels are popular choices for them as replacements for their split rims. I am going to keep trolling the old Ford boards and the MH salvage yards for as many as I can find.
