converter batter charger upgrade

I am upgrading from the factory power converter to an intellipower.\n\nThe factory unit has separate connections to charge the battery and supply power to the 12v devices. The new unit only has a a single power out for the battery. If anyone has done an upgrade is it safe to connect the battery and 12v power output together into the single 12v power out of the new converter? This seems like it would work but don't want to fry anything.

\n\nFry anything? No. That is how all modern RV's are built. I did this on my Winnebago which had a old Progressive Dynamics split system - http://www.classicwinnebagos.com/forum/ ... 326.0.html\n\nI did replace the distribution panel also to make the overall change easier.

Thank you. That is what I thought.\n\nI will have to tackle that power panel some other time. It would be nice to have holding tank gauges that are accurate. \n\nPlus I like the vintage look.
