1973 Travco 270 "The Shagmobile"
I am a new member but have owned my Travco for about ten years. I call it the Shagmobile. When I saw it sitting for sale in my small town, I had a vision to make it look like it was owned by Austin Powers. With swinging sixties green paint, apple bonker green shag carpet installed, and plenty of mid century furniture and fixtures added, it's dingy interior was transformed. It runs good, the tires take a while to get the flat spots out, the exterior fiberglass has some peeling of the clear coat, but the old girl still has plenty of charm...for me anyway. My wife hates it.

Welcome to Travco madness. Nice to see a Late 73 on here. From another post you have on here I am guessing you have a 318? the 413 was an option but I think the 318 was standard. We have Nessie which is a 76 Mahal 2+2 and another 27 footer.\nShe was orange shag and a brown stripe when we got her and it was the wife that said this is the one for us. The shag is gone and she is slowly being turned into a Scottish pub like interior.

Re: 1973 Travco 270 "The Shagmobile"
thanks...now I need to figure out which motor I actually have. There must be some way to identify it? I is huge so I always thought it was the 413. I have a 1973 Olds 455 and it is about the same size. Part of the fun of the Travco is making it your own design. I hope to actually start using it more once I get it up and running again with the new ignition parts. Enjoy your pub. Would love to see some pics.

Big Block Mopar engine has the distributor on the front of the engine, Small Block is to the back. 413 is the most probable if a big block unless it was swapped at some point. Casting numbers on the block will tell you exactly what it is.
