Well our trip to Bandimere Speedway last week sealed the deal. My husband and I are on the hunt for a Travco 320 within the 1966-1976 years. We don't need picture perfect but dont want a piece of you know what either. We are willing to travel to seller's destination if just the right Travco were available.\n\nMy husband would be fine with a 270 but I would prefer the 290 or 320. I am not sure but i believe a 290 is only 27 feet long like a 270. Not sure what the designation meant. \n I know they are out there but i have still never seen a 320 in real life. I am not sure of the first year for them but i think its 75 or 76. I have no idea how many were made in total.\n I will keep a lookout!

Thank you for the Craigslist link! Even though I would like a 320 they do some even more rare than a 270, 290. Soooo, if you dont mind keeping your watchful eye open for those too. \n\nWe are looking at 77 or 78 this weekend. My husband prefers the older body style though. If we do find a 77-84 model will that make us less "cool" to other Travco owners?\n\nWendi

The best advice that I can give you is to buy a running and driving coach that doesn't have brake issues. (Of course the parking brake will always be an issue - lol) \n I started out looking for a 1968 or older body style (with the quad headlights and lower fender skirts) because that is my favorite body style. I ended up finding my 77 model but as a bonus I now have 19.5 wheels and front disc brakes.\n\nI like anything vintage so all old motorhomes and especially Travco's are cool in my book. It's pretty cool to park next to a $250k coach and have curious people come over to check out your Travco!

I am happy to announce that my husband and I are now proud owners of a 1973 270 Dodge Travco! We picked it up a week ago Thursday from a local private seller and dug right in. It had been sitting for years so needless to say she needs a lot of therapy. I got the one side of her free from the grime with bleach water, scrub brush and pressure washer. The roof was covered in moss and grime. The day we got it my husband began to rip out the pink carpet. Most, if not all, the wood sub floor will need to be replaced, thanks to the carpenter ants that were actively inhabiting and destroying the wood. Really, really gross. Bug bomb! and it still didn't kill all of them. It makes me feel good to know that my husband and I will take good care of this Travco and bring it back to its glory. So does this mean I have to name it?\n\nWendi

Very cool ! \nMine doesn't have a name (we just call it the Travco) but I know many people do name their coaches. Post up some pics and notes of your work when you can.
