I changed the pan gasket and then realized that wasn't the leak. its coming out of that round thing under the tailhousing bolt. Looks like a small freeze plug. It feels spring loaded when I push on it. What can I do to fix it ?

well I think I found out what it is.\nit is the Rear band reverse pivot pin. \nIt seems the tailhousing needs to come off and tranny pan. I have read many success stories about just cleaning the outside really well, pushing it in a little and globbing snot on it. I think I will try that first.

I'll have to look. You mean entirely or if you are dropping the pan ? I think I used either 5-6 quarts but I won't swear to it.

Repaired a cooling line leak and managed to get 5 quarts in topping it up\nDon't know what the min would be just to move. Bet the capacity is 10+ quarts

I also found a leak that was supposed to be at the bell housing but looks like it is a small threaded fitting, driver side, right above the pan with a steel\n1/4 inch line going forward. Looks like a tranny fluid coolant line. \n\nDo you guys know which is send and receive to and from the tranny cooler? this pic is the best I could do. It is on the bell housing right above the pan and right below and slightly forward of the shift lever. It looks like brass and looks kinda orange in the photo.\n\n

my tranny line rotted out. I don't remember which is which. I don't think it really matters that much. Maybe powerwash the are or use gunk on it to clean it up so you can see the leak better.

A common leak on these is the shift shaft seal. I think the book says to drop the pan and valve body to drive it out from the inside. I was able to get mine out from above with a homemade hook shaped spike. The seal is cheap.
