Keisler did have 4L60E and 4L80E auto trans for BB Mopars- but they are kaput. Silver Sport Transmission is the remains bought from the ashes- http://www.hotrod.com/news/silver-sport ... rs-assets/

Jack Silver bought the remains of Keisler. Keisler use to have a 4L60E & 4L80E package that had the Mopar bolt patterns. No adapters, no hinkey-dinkey...my preference is going to be the GV unit with their updated extension housing park brake set up

Here is where you'd go to find out more info on their packages for Mopar big blocks. I know some Mopar purists would lose their minds putting anything GM on a Mopar, but hey, that was the '60's & '70's tech at the time...same folks conveniently forgetting that the mini starters, alternators and AC compressors Chryco started using in the late '70's into the '80s were all -GASP- Japanese! Another overdrive option is the a518 Mopar transmission. This place sells a adapter kit to bolt the small block bell housing up to the Big block.http://smrtrans.tripod.com/smrtransmiss ... o/id9.html This would not be an issue with the 318 powered Travcos. They also have a overdrive kit for the 727 that uses the gearvendors OD but is shorter as an assembly.\nThis place has directions on how to make the A518 shift automatically. http://www.transmissioncenter.net/SwapInformation.htm

Would like an overdrive but not sure how much time I would spend in overdrive. Seems like the engine is usually working and needs those extra 800 rpms to keep power up.

I have a '68 270 w/ the 318 motor.... is swapping out the transmission to a 518 a relatively simple swap? Has anyone done it? I'm not a motor/gearhead so it isn't something I would do myself but would like to know if it is straightforward enough for someone that knows what they are doing to do it and would I gain anything by doing it.\n\n

You would gain an Overdrive gear. Lower rpm running down the highway on level ground anyway. Better fuel economy due to the engine turning fewer rpms. The gear vendors unit would add the ability to split gears giving additional ratios in between the existing ones along with the OD.

\nIt depends... Which 318 do you have? A small block 318 or a Poly 318?
