Tranny pans

In one of my forays under "Bucky Bus" I noticed the tranny pan on it. Well, that is a standard depth pan...and this is one big, honking machine. The cheapest route is to find a later, factory OD 727 (known as an A-518) and grab the pan & pick up and install. Use the Chrysler re-usable gasket and do NOT go crazy with the goop or torqueing the bolts like a wild man.\n\nA little more expensive- buy a good-quality deep pan (preferably with the cooling tubes on the bottom like a Derale pan-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tP77dh9BYP0) and the pick up kit Andy Finkbeiner (http://arengineering.com/) sells. Add an external cooler, so cooling goes trans-to-rad-to-cooler- and back. Tube and fin coolers work, but plate and fin works a little better- http://www.etrailer.com/faq-about-engin ... px\n\nAlso, to reduce the slight slippage between shifts an old trick was to put Ford Type F in the mix (what do you think B&M "Trick Shift" fluid is? Uh-huh, Type-F with a 300+% mark up).
