Sanitizing cushions ?

Unread postby Acesneights on Wed Feb 27, 2013 9:46 pm

Not sure what mine have seen but there was mouse droppings in the camper. I found them in cabinets but I have to assume the cushions need to be sanitized. Been reading a bunch of different ideas on different RV sites.
So far I came up with these ideas from that.
Washing the fabric in the washing machine and hanging dry. Luckily my washer has a sanitize cycle.
Now for the foam...
One person said put it in a tub or kiddie pool with water and detergent and stomp on it like making wine and hten hang dry in the sun which could take over a week.
Another said stuff it in the washing machine. The spin cycle will get most of the water out and then hang dry for a few days.
Another said use a steamer.
They don't look stained so that is good.
Any other ideas ? Any one ever try any of these ?
I got the covers in the washer right now but still thinking about the foam.

So far so good. I washed the covers and no problem and now I tried the foam. Seem to come out ok.

My wife used a steam cleaner machine that she borrowed from someone. The booth and couch stayed damp for 2 days but came out good. Then she covered them with brown sofa covers.
