My redneck Hotel

Unread post by Acesneights » Sat Jul 11, 2015 8:20 am

So I also collect Military trucks and go to alot of shows. When one of my friends goes one of us takes the Travco and one takes the MV. This summer my friend who usually goes has not been able to and my wife works weekends plus disapproves all of this stuff anyway so I need an alternative for me and my son.\nHmmm...what to do ?? A tent ? A pop up ??? Well....I'm not much for tents and because my 5 ton has classic car insurance the only trailer I can tow is something directly related to the show . in fact it is specifically prohibited from towing an RV. So ...\nGonna turn my M105a2 Vietnam era Deuce trailer into a redneck hotel. Got it at an auction from Ft Devens...It looked better in the pictures...:(\nSo I cleaned it up a bit and am giving it a quick and dirty Govt level paint job with some fresh woodland green and then I'm gonna customize the inside with bunks, porta potti , fresh water tank lights a fan and so on. \nJust primed it last night with Omni MP170 . It seems to work well with OD. The canvas was in good shape except the stitching was coming apart so I had a local canvas place re stitch it for 90$

I was not in the military, just collect and restore the trucks.Member of both MVPA and Comvec. Do alot of shows and any kind of fundraisers for vets. Got to give the National Guard a ride in my 5 ton during the Memorial Day parade. What an awesome honor that was. It's alot of fun. We just came back from New Hampshire. Trailer worked out well. got 11 mpg towing it with the M923...Better than 6mpg with the Travco....
