Insurance...Anyone get glass coverage ?

Unread post by Acesneights » Mon Sep 26, 2016 6:41 pm

As most of you know the windshields are still available last I checks but average about 1200$ each shipped. I have not been able to find an insurance company that will insure my Travco for Comprehensive. Anyone got Comp/glass coverage on theirs ?

I could have added it through Progressive. keep in mind that you would need to have an "incident" happen to damage BOTH windshields in order to get both replaced at the same time.

I have a "Silver" plan through Progressive on my recently acquired 1977 290 - $243/yr - that specifically covers windshield replacement ONLY with $0 deductible.

I'm a little late in replying here, but I have Progressive. I don't have any special coverage from them - I think I originally told them the RV was worth about $3500 (which was true, when I bought it). I pulled my Gypsy out of storage, and noticed I had huge cracks in BOTH sides. I don't know when they happened, or what happened. They asked me when I noticed them, and then they covered the replacement. It ran about $3000 for both sides, and I paid a $125 deductible. That was about 2 weeks ago. I hope this helps!

\nSo you had your windshield glass replaced? I know you're here in Texas so I'm curious... where did the glass come from and where did you have the work done at?

I had the work done here locally, in San Angelo, by GA Auto Glass. They orderes the glass and had it shipped. The owner of the shop, named John, can give you all the particulars, but glass for both sides, plus shipping, etc., was under $3,000.
