Hey, everyone! Long story short, I've been wanting one of these for about 25 yrs, or so, and this one just fell into my lap the other day! I've been on the fence between a motorhome or a pull behind, and have been leaning towards the Spartan campers for some time now, and somehow my son was at a guys place doing a deal on a truck he was trading, and sent me this pic.. I had to sit down when he told me the price, it's exactly how I like to buy everything, CHEAP! I'm sure it will need a ton of work, but these things are classic, which is something else we are big on around here! I'll have questions and issues to run by you folks, and I guess my first question is, what is the hieght, with ac units, of a model 270? We are getting ready to build a garage, so I may as well make room inside for the old girl, right??
\nI'm very excited!

Welcome!\nThat is a 73' or newer model 270. The height of my 1977 Travco 270 to the top of the AC unit is right at 10' 6". That's with 8R19.5 tires (33" tall).

Ok then, thank you sir! It also appears to have mirrors from an earlier model mounted along with the triangular mounted mirrors.. is this common? And I assume these are equipped with gensets as well.. I'm very excited, lol.. sorry

Re: Proud New Owner
Somebody added the newer mirrors. As for height, I have yet to measure Nessie But she is a 76 with the same size tires 77Travco has So I have to assume it is about 4" taller to the top of the new heat pump. The new heat pump is about 4" taller than the Coleman AC on the front. A genset should be in a compartment on the right side by the back.
