Yep. I checked that first thing. There is no "preload" on the spring at all. It's bottomed out completely at pedal TOP. Maybe tomorrow I will look at adjusting the spring a bit. Looks like lubricating everything helped a bunch. \n\nPretty severe power steering leak now too. Dripping into my neck as I was working on the brake situation. ugh.\n\nScouring my wiring schematic so I can go probe around and see where my failure point is on the brake lights not working.\n\nIt's always something. Gotta love 40 year old vehicles that sit.

Check the switch. It is also in that picture top center. That is not an original switch but a $7.00 Standard brand With a couple washers to allow mounting in the factory spot.

Found the problem. Traced the wires back to the RED/Yellow plugs by the footwell. Pink wire SHOULD be hot, White wire is from brake switch.\n\nPink wire was dead. Traced back to fuse panel and found a bad fuse. NOT blown, just flat out old and bad. Continuity test shows 0, Zero, Zilch through fuse.\n\nReplaced with fresh 20A from collection and pink wire is now 12V. White wire from switch gets juice when brake is applied. Waiting for wife to confirm lights working but all signs say yes.\n\n\nThe spring still needs to be adjusted to pull the pedal up that last 1 inch or so. Will lay under there tomorrow and see what I can adjust.\n\nThanks all!
