need ceiling help

Unread post by Zed » Fri May 26, 2017 6:52 pm

Pretty frustrated. I've tried Revolution Ply, a thin plywood probably 4mm thick and a even thinner particle board MDF type stuff. Nothing wants to make the radius curve from where the ceiling transitions into the walls. I'm not set up to steam anything which is maybe what this job requires? I'm thinking about trying the really thin toungue in groove pine I've seen before figuring that would work since there is some play and the pieces are only 4 inches wide and abot as thick as the Revolution Ply or maybe even thinner BUT I thought I'd ask here first before I waste any more money. \n\nAnyone replaced their ceilings? What did you use?

Ooo that actually looks pretty nice! I got a pack of cedar beadboard the thing toungue in groove stuff I mentioned before. If that doesn't work I'll look into the waterproof cardboard. What is your source for this stuff, does it have to be ordered or is there a Home Depot type store that carries it? 4 x 8 sheets? Thanks for the tip!

I don't remember where I got it off hand but it was ordered online. They came in a smaller size than 4x8. If you like bead board there is a plastic bead board that works. Luxagraf on here has it in his 69 and it looked good. I think he got his at Home Depot. It comes in any color you want as long as it is white..... Ok white only. The waterproof cardboard I used will be covered with Faux Tin in the near future. I will try and locate the source for the waterproof cardboard when I get home from the current camping trip.
