Re: Rubber Mount Suspension
\nThe LA 318 had a fair amount of torque for its size.\nThe A 318 aka the Poly 318 had a bit more, (Polysperical Heads)\nThe RB 413 and 440 are flat out torque producers.\nThe 5.9l Cummins like all diesels built for torque\n\nThe 318 LA had 340 ftlbs of torque @2400 rpm from 68 to 70. That is the same torque that the Poly 318 had.\nIn 71 that dropped to 260 ftlbs @1600\nCompare that to a Chevy 327 which ran between 320 ftlbs to 360 ftlbs depending on HP rating. Remember the 327 was chevy's performance motor where the 318 was chryslers base v8.\n\nThe 440 fromn 74 on up only had 375 Ftlbs. of torquebordoms wrote:my wife's bicycle has more torque than the 318..

Re: Rubber Mount Suspension
what would the hp and torque be for the '70 413 ? it says 260 hp on the air filter but I think those ratings were changed as far as how it was calculated in the mid 70's. not sure if was rated higher or lower after that for hp.

Re: Rubber Mount Suspension
\nI couldn't find 1970 but for 71 and 72 the 260 hp 413-1 was putting out 445 ftlbs of torque @2400 rpm. the 413-3 was putting out 407 ftlbs @ 2000 rpm. The low compression 440 for 71 was still putting out 460 ftlbs.raysimmons wrote:what would the hp and torque be for the '70 413 ? it says 260 hp on the air filter but I think those ratings were changed as far as how it was calculated in the mid 70's. not sure if was rated higher or lower after that for hp.

Re: Rubber Mount Suspension
I can't remember what the difference between the 413-1 and the 3 is. it always seemed to be more hp than 260 but the extra torque would do that I suppose, thanks, ray

\n \nActually the 220 in my Avatar ran pretty good with one but I put an Edelbrock intake and Carter AFB on it.bordoms wrote:my wife's bicycle has more torque than the 318..

update
This is the information I got from Morryde\nGood morning. I talked to the engineer and you are correct, we used (2) MO25-xxx springs per corner for a total of 8. The rubber bonding & vulcanization process has improved allowing for a spring count reduction with later models.\n\nAnyway, for a 7K axle, if we send out (4) springs, our DSR108-063 springs should work. If you want (8) springs, our MO25-010 would be the ticket. \n\nDSR108-063: $180.99 each, in stock\nMO25-010: $244.99 each, in stock
