The shims on the 76 may be tapered and being used to set the caster on the alignment. The master cylinder for disc brakes is different as disc brakes use a higher volume of fluid to actuate.

agreed on both points. I have been doing some reading on both subjects. I thought of the shims for the caster but they seem to be stacked... I will take a few pics tomorrow. \n\nIts good to see that my local big Napa has almost all of the brake parts for the 76. (thanks Dave Chieftans, your site helps Again!!)
